Hello to you and welcome to my blog! I am so glad you are here 🙂 I am a happily married high school math teacher with a pug named Fritz (yes, he is a Chinese dog with a German name – my husband can take credit for naming him). I created this blog to share my various creations with others who have similar crafty goals. I plan to share my scrap booking designs, craft projects, and recipes I enjoy. I hope you’ll join me on this journey!
Just a couple of things about me you might find interesting:
*I LOVE TO ACT!!!!! Ever since I was in middle school, I’ve been performing on stage. My favorite kind of plays are comedies – I love making people laugh. This is going to sound cocky, but I think I am pretty good at it! I always get really great comedic roles 🙂 Since graduating college, I’ve been able to participate in a couple of shows with the local theatre company in town. Most recently, we performed a musical entitled, “Smoke on the Mountain”. It was a great show and we had a great crowd at every performance. Below is a picture from a play I did while in college.

*I adore my husband! We got married last year and we’ve had a wonderful first year together. As I said earlier, we have a 3 year old pug named Fritz. We are contemplating getting another dog so he has a playmate, and we’re thinking about getting a Boston Terrier. In addition to getting married, we took another huge step in our lives and bought a house this past summer! We’ve stayed busy painting and buying furniture so we could make it our own. I’ve completed a few DIY projects for the house that I will share with you soon! Here’s a picture of our happy little family from Halloween this year:
*My sister is seriously awesome! She’s the one who inspired me to start this blog. I have her to thank for a lot of things: my love of theatre, fashion, cooking/baking, TONS of things!! She is wonderfully talented at doing hair and make up and giving fashion advice. In fact, for my wedding, she did my make up, her hair, and my mom’s hair! How cool is that?! You should TOTALLY check out her blog here!
*I enjoy reading. Right now, I am reading the Hunger Games series for the second time and I am in the middle of “Mockingjay”. The next book I am going to read is “The Help”. My husband got it for me for Christmas and I can’t wait to start it! Some of my favorite authors are Sophie Kinsella/Madeleine Wickham, Francine Rivers, Jan Karon, and Nicholas Sparks. If you have any good recommendations, let me know! I’m always looking for new reads!
*I am in love with Pinterest (what woman isn’t???)! A lot of the things I will post about will probably be inspirations from Pinterest. My husband calls it ‘the devil’, but somehow he doesn’t seem to mind the meals and desserts we’ve had from it 🙂
*My favorite color is TEAL! And since I love teal, I love peacock feathers! We used them everywhere at our wedding…in my hair, on my dress, on my shoes, at the ceremony, at the reception…peacock feathers everywhere (tastefully done of course)!!! I even painted one of my classroom walls a deep teal, and my students really like it.
*TV is another hobby I enjoy. It helps me to relax after a long day. A few shows I watch regularly are Cupcake Wars, Once Upon a Time, The Walking Dead, Happy Endings, New Girl, The Middle, Modern Family, Grimm, Psych…just to name a few!
*Quoting lines from tv, movies, and comedians occurs on a daily basis for me. “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”, “Napoleon Dynamite”, Jim Gaffigan, Brian Regan…these are just a few things I quote from. I always have a laugh when I quote something at school and my students have no idea what I’m talking about…For example, one of my students said, “You’re trying to kill us with all this work”. I quickly replied, “If I was going to kill you, I’d use my hands”. I told the students that if anyone could name the movie, I’d give them $5. Alas, no one could name the movie…can you??
I hope this has given you some insight to my life. I encourage you to come back and visit!
